Founded by independent artists in 2000 and stewarded by The Center for Emerging Visual Artists since 2009, Philadelphia Open Studio Tours (POST), is the largest tour of artist studios and creative workspaces in the region, and one of the premier open studio tour events in the country. Each October, POST activities span 22 unique Philadelphia neighborhoods, feature over 200 artist and community partner participants, engage audiences topping 40,000, and literally put Philadelphia’s professional artists “on the map” for locals and tourists alike. As an annual fall festival of visual art, POST provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse of artists at work through an approachable, self-guided, and easy-to-navigate tour of studios and related creative workspaces, as well as gallery exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops, artist talks, receptions, and guided Trolley tours.
