In the studio : New inks

glass counter inks
New inks from Akua
draw downs still wet
with a dark patch at the bottom

My favorite place for inking —the glass counter.

I have a fabulous glass counter that I use for mixing inks and inking my linos or blocks it's 9 feet long to accomodate a number of colors or mixes. It's easy to clean up too. I purchased two new inks Graphite and Paynes Gray. I have an idea brewing.

Yummy yummy.

I decided that I had just enough time before I left the studio to do draw-downs to sample the ink on white.

You see them while still wet.

And finally with a darker patch at the bottom.

I usually do a draw-down on any substrate I'm going to ink so that I have an idea how it will look when dry. It helps me to decide if I should use any additives or if I need to mix colors to get where I want to be. Then I can make a batch of ink for a series of prints or drawings. Excited about the results of these pulls. They will look great on Rives BFK White. Now to test them on the gray.

I love process.
