Lots has been happening in my artlife — I was interviewed by Philip Hartigan, chosen for MADE IN PHILLY, and I'm madly getting ready for Philadelphia Open Studios Tour this weekend. Hope to see you.

The MADE IN PHILLY campaign takes over traditional advertising spaces to showcase the extraordinary but often untold quantity and quality of visual art being produced in Philadelphia...and connects each work displayed to the neighborhood (even block) where it was created.
A look at the bus shelter poster 8 blocks away from my studio included in the MADE IN PHILLY project for Philadelphia Open Studio tours. I'm one of 50 artists seclected for the project. This is Google Street View. I'll get a pic when it is installed.
I'm participating in the city wide Philadelphia Open Studio Tours. I hope you'll save the date on your calendar. I'll be showing and selling from my #drawingaday project 2012. I'll also have larger work from 2012 and now my new pieces from 2013.
More info as time goes on.
Living with a liquid sky.
It was in the 70's outside but the humidity was so thick I still had to have the air conditioner on. Still a productive day moving projects along.
Lots of progress with work.
A new project on the worktable yesterday.
Trying to jumpstart my making work and keep myself from spending another day cleaning and doing construction in the studio. I decided I should make some small things. Experiment and make it easier to maybe even make several in one studio session. I have many larger projects that I have started but they have many stages and I'm waiting now for inks to dry.
I finally began my altered book project. It's been in my thoughts and sketchbook for over two years. My post process : 9 x 9 new works [ part one] back in 2010 gives a little background. I finally felt I had a way forward. I opened each book to a spread that asked me to ink it. I know this sounds strange but I can't really define all of the reasons why I chose the particular spreads, so I'll leave the reasons out of the process so far.
In my studio today.
I really went to my studio today expecting nothing. I thought I would clean up and store some tools and supplies I wasn't using right now. I began to do just that while my coffee machine did it's thing.
When visiting ICA Philadelphia this past week I spied a piece by Virgil Marti by the reception desk. Nice.
