Another form that came about the same way. In this drawing I discoved edges created by the actual drawing surface. It too has a print quality to it.

I enjoyed punching the three holes in the top.

The second organic form.

Another rhythm pattern and then i decided to punch holes through the surface as well as mark it.

I have been working with punched holes a bit in the studio too. This one feels more like a print to me. I love the big translucent red dot.

365 #drawingaday

365 is the result of a drawing-a-day project — a daily constancy in drawing. Experimenting with a foreign surface and unfamiliar tools, Stella drew with sketch software on her iPhone. A step outside the studio and away from the comfort of familiar, analog tools.

I decided to work with some forms that are more organic as my defined surface.
This is my first experiment.
I started by creating a background pattern that uses repetitive marks in an organic way. These were based on rhythmns. Tap, tap — tap tap tap. TAP.
I molded the edge by hiding areas with white and then adding scribbled textured forms inside.

The second drawing using the flood fills. It’s sorta silly but I like the intersection of form quite a bit.

The marks feel alot like analog drawing to me.

Making a shift again.

Working with some solid forms and only a couple marks.

One of the strong points of this kind of drawing app is flood filling an area. I thought I would take advantage of this in a few new drawings. My first adventure and I’m pleased.

Just pretending to an architect.

That’s all.

This drawing is a bit of a jumble. Lots of new marks. Making new tools and experimenting.

I was very interested in making some open marks abd seeing what the spaces would have to offer when layered.

Unexpectedly I like it more than I would have imagined.

Lot’s of elipses.

Decided that would be the main shape in this drawing. Imagining layer upon layer of spinning gears.

The red really adds another dimension. It pulls me away from mechanical thinking.

Transparency and strange forms.

This drawing confuses me.
