Three of my Egyptian Waters drawings. Looking at some minor moisture damage. I have to test a blank sheet to see if I can make a repair. I want to get these framed for an upcoming show. Only a little wrinkle.
Each egyptian waters series includes ten ink drawings. The drawings are made using a group of specific marks – a personal hieroglyphics. The pens I use have fixed width nibs. Each drawing is made using only one nib. The vocabulary is made up of marks that in isolation define a discrete aspect of a state of water. When placed in a particular order they create a story about a body of water. This story can be read line by line, or from left to right, or from top to bottom or as one image.
