IN THE STUDIO : long and short series

What was on the wall wednesday.

I have begun making sets of panel drawings that can be paired in different ways. This is the start. We'll see just how many I make and how many of them feel successful enough to add to a multipanel presentation.

My process allows each to be independent and I'm open to that always being the case. But the joining of many pieces that have a common criteria but are not made to BE together will make for an interesting result.

Looking forward to continue the drawing and see what develops.

3 or more hours

I made this drawing after the splat.

I had finished the splat drawing but I really felt as though I needed to make another. From previous experience I figured I might be able to make another small drawing in the three or more hours I had left in my studio day.

Making this drawing actually surprised me. My ability to maintain an even tempo and distance was quite easy. I am really please with what it turned out to be.

Eight drawings with walnut ink.

Back in the studio. It take lots of energy to make a drawing especially a large one. To get back in shape I have been making small drawings. These drawings were made with my new nibs and gift walnut ink,

These lines feel like little twigs.

I made a series of eight on Rives BFK. This is the begining. So tempted to leave them just the way they are. The quality of the line is so amazing. I do have ideas for what will come next but I need to do some experimentation with how the ink will respond when I add a layer on top.
