New drawings up.
I've been working on new drawings for a couple weeks now. I just uploaded my new series Winter Twins to my website. I've added one below.

A whole layer of new marks came into play as I discovered something that needed to be just below the surface. I know that is cryptic but it's true and I can't explain it any better than that. Looking forward to reviewing the drawings again and determining what other marks are missing.
Leaving the drawings waiting too long can melt them.

Was a terrific art day Sunday. Walked to the studio. Worked on my most recent drawings. The series is beginning to come together. Walked to 110 Church just in time to catch friends that had come for the ART of Printmaking conversation at 110 CHURCH. (They said it was great) Then to dinner and more art talk. It was art from the moment I lifted my head from the pillow until I put it back down for the night.
Had a full day working in the studio last week. This is a first look at a new series of ten drawings — winter twins. The drawings are meditations and impressions of the season. Often at this time of year my drawings become mostly black and white. The drawings are minimal. I don't have much more to say right now; I'm still working on them and I don't want to think.
It is important to keep my head clear and trust the process. Keeping that place between sessions of drawings means I can't talk about them. I can't until they are finished.
I'll be showing three drawings in Philadelphia Community Show at 3rd Street Gallery in February. The drawings are a longing for Spring.
