In this drawing I really experimented with making custom brushes and changing the hardness of the pencils.
It's really interesting to see these outside of the iPhone. Remember I am drawing on a very small surface and I don't see the drawing full size until I export it to Dropbox and then post it here.
This is the second drawing in the series. Yep number two
I learned how to make some more tools that would make marks that I am interested in making. I'm getting faster at switching from one tool to another; that makes the drawing more spontaneous.
This one is energetic and looks more like the work I make on paper.
I'm pretty excited working on these.
I have embarked on my drawing-a-day adventure.
This is the first drawing I have managed to accomplish on my iPhone.
This is a real adventure, learning to use the software, draw with my finger, use a tiny screen, and manage to create drawing tools within the software to make a series of marks that I find interesting and useful.
I'm working with some drawings that just fell apart on me.
I tried adding some things to the surface and they just blew the marks away. So now I am cutting the drawings into pieces that could be assembled to make a new drawing. Or be part of another drawing. One that may be dimensional and may even be fastened say with a stapler. Just a couple of ideas I am working with right now.
I have a few days to do holiday things and then I will be back in the studio.
Winter essentials. I love my little sketchbook (thanks Carol). I can hold it in a gloved or mittened hand.
I haven't been into the studio in a bit. Been working hard on a set of projects with pressing deadlines. If I had been in the studio more it is likely ideas would be flowing better.
Until then I have my favorite little fountain pen and my handy dandy orange sketchbook. It's easy to make small drawings in the cold and wind, even when you have to use Blistex or Chapstick.
I hope to have more news from the studio soon.
